Aluminium Crank-Down Jacks for Motorhomes – the ALU Jack Set by SMV for a Secure Stand

The aluminium crank-down jacks by SMV are a set of aluminium hydraulic jacks for retrofitting to the rear of motorhomes with a chassis extension or AL-KO frame. The ALU Jack Set (Manufacturer No. 101089) stabilises the parked vehicle and prevents rocking when entering or moving around inside. Manufactured from aluminium, the crank-down jacks save noticeably more payload compared to steel jacks.

Technical Features

• Material: Aluminium, weather-resistant and corrosion-resistant – therefore lighter than comparable steel jacks.
• Extension range: Steplessly extendable from approx. 290 mm to 420 mm; the support frame can be extended multiple times to accommodate different ground clearances.
• Load capacity: Up to 500 kg dynamic load capacity and up to 1,000 kg static per jack – designed for stabilising, not for lifting the vehicle.
• Mounting: Two holes per jack with a 51 mm hole spacing (bore diameter 11 mm), often pre-prepared on the chassis extension.
• Operation: Extendable via the supplied 78 cm hand crank or optionally with a cordless drill.

Compatibility

The aluminium crank-down jacks are compatible with virtually all motorhomes featuring a chassis extension or AL-KO frame. Common base vehicles include:

• Fiat Ducato (all generations, original chassis or AL-KO)
• Citroën Jumper (identical construction to the Ducato)
• Peugeot Boxer (identical construction to the Ducato)
• Mercedes Sprinter (with chassis extension)
• Ford Transit (with chassis extension)
• Iveco Daily (with chassis extension)
• VW Crafter (with chassis extension)

Not suitable for: Vehicles without a chassis extension or a suitable AL-KO frame. What are crank-down jacks intended for? They stabilise the stationary vehicle and are not designed to lift the motorhome or change a wheel.
