The chassis extension for the Fiat Ducato 280/290 (identical construction to Peugeot J5 and Citroën C25) creates a load-bearing base at the rear of your motorhome for attachments such as a tow bar, carrier systems, or manoeuvring aids. It is intended for owners of classic motorhomes from the first Ducato generation who require a robust extension of the vehicle chassis. The SMV chassis extension is made from hot-dip galvanised steel and is designed for a nose weight of 150 kg.

What is a chassis extension needed for?

What does a chassis extension do on a motorhome? It extends the load-bearing vehicle chassis rearwards, thereby creating a stable mounting point for components that project beyond the standard chassis. This version is intended for vehicles without an existing load-bearing chassis extension.

Compatibility

This chassis extension is compatible with the first Ducato generation of type 280/290 (standard chassis).

Not suitable for: vehicles with an existing load-bearing chassis extension, as well as newer Ducato model series (e.g. 230/244 or X250).
