Chassis Extension Sprinter NCV3 / VW Crafter (from 2007) – load-bearing base for tow bar and rear bike rack

The chassis extension for the Mercedes Sprinter NCV3 and the VW Crafter forms the load-bearing foundation for all rear-mounted accessories on the motorhome. It serves as the basis for a tow bar (AHK), rear bike rack or motorcycle carrier, and is aimed at motorhome converters as well as campers with vehicles that do not have a factory-fitted load-bearing chassis extension. This base is supplied at a maximum length of 1500 mm and cut to the length required for the respective motorhome type.

• Max. nose weight: 150 kg – sufficient for common tow bars and rear bike rack systems.
• Material: steel, designed for the permanent absorption of towing and carrier loads.
• Surface: hot-dip galvanised for long-term corrosion protection, even in wet conditions and when exposed to road salt.
• Certification: supplied with EC type approval as proof of authorisation.
• Installation time: typically approximately 2 hours (approx. 120 minutes) at a specialist workshop.

Compatibility

This chassis extension is designed for the Mercedes Sprinter NCV3 (W906) and the largely identical VW Crafter first generation from year of construction 2007. Both models were produced on the same production line with largely identical specifications.

Note: Intended for vehicles without a load-bearing chassis extension. What does this mean? If no chassis extension, or no load-bearing chassis extension, is fitted as standard, this base creates the prerequisite for fitting a tow bar or rear bike rack.
